Our work in:
Health Equity
Health equity is about giving everyone a fair and just opportunity to be as healthy as possible—no matter their background, identity, or circumstances.
It’s about removing the barriers to care and resources so that everyone, not just some, can live their healthiest life.
Work in action
At ChangeLine, we strive for equity in all that we do.
That often looks like:
Bringing health equity in focus by asking questions like:
Who’s most affected?
Who’s being overlooked?
How can we help ensure those most impacted have a voice in shaping solutions?
Driving new initiatives forward through convening, support, and resources
Working with specific communities we have cultivated relationships with to launch myriad short- and long-term solutions unique to
their needs

Work in Focus
Our LGBTQ+ Health Equity Initiative launched in 2022 to address long-standing disparities faced by LGBTQ+ people in the Pikes Peak Region. Even before the Club Q tragedy, we were working with LGBTQ+ community members, clinicians, and advocates to identify gaps in care and develop solutions through a collaborative needs assessment process.
Our Health Equity team began this initiative by convening a Community Advisory Council (CAC) composed entirely of LGBTQ+ community members. Together, they identified a clear and urgent need for access to safe, affirming mental and physical healthcare. This led to the development of a regional LGBTQ+ Community Needs Assessment, completed by over 400 individuals—a powerful data set that continues to shape advocacy and policy discussions today.
One solution identified early on was the need for a trusted, easy-to-navigate directory of affirming healthcare providers. The result is the Prism Provider Directory, now home to 50+ vetted mental health professionals and expanding to include medical providers. It is hosted on the website of Prism Community Collective, an LGBTQ+ resource center set up by ChangeLine in the wake of the tragedy at Club Q in November 2022.
In addition to creating resources, the initiative is also focused on building awareness and capacity across the region. One example is our Supporting Trans and Gender Expansive Youth: Allyship Workshop, which helps community members and providers better understand the challenges trans youth face—and how to show up with compassion and care.
The first and only space of its kind in the Pikes Peak Region, Prism Community Collective is a community center with resources available for those impacted by the Club Q tragedy in 2022, including the greater LGBTQ+ community.
