Merrina Mendez
Community Resource Manager
Merrina holds a degree in Human Sciences with a focus on Human Development & Family Studies from Stephen F. Austin State University. Before joining ChangeLine, she gained valuable experience working with various nonprofit organizations in Colorado and the Florida panhandle, specializing in domestic and sexual violence advocacy, human trafficking awareness, and efforts supporting survivors.
Additionally, Merrina has expertise in advocating for and supporting youth experiencing homelessness in El Paso County through street outreach, housing, and development initiatives. Through this work, Merrina has developed the ability to unite people toward a common goal, fostering positive outcomes and meaningful change.
In her previous role as ChangeLine’s Homelessness Initiatives Community Relations Manager, Merrina played a key part in driving efforts to make homelessness rare, brief and nonrecurring through collaboration and alignment with the Pikes Peak Continuum of Care and PPCoC membership. Now, as the Community Resource Manager, she works alongside Prism Community Collective (an initiative of ChangeLine) to connect community members with helpful resources.
Outside of work, Merrina enjoys discovering new restaurants to review, participating in animal rescue efforts, and collecting stamps.
